Sales orders can be marked as Preorder by turning the switch on the sales order On. If the Sales order is marked as a preorder, the planned delivery date on the sales order lines will be equal to the Delivery Period Start date:

If the switch Preorder is off, the Planned delivery date will be calculated according to standard functionalities of Business Central. The delivery period will be visible in the sales lines for regular orders, but not used for planning purposes if the Preorder switch is turned off.

The shipping of sales orders can be planned the usual way within Business Central.
