CS Landed Costs

If you post a purchase invoice with items, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central will create Item Ledger Entries and Value Entries for each entry with direct costs and indirect costs (overhead). The total amount of the value entries per item ledger entry will be visible as Cost Amount (Actual) in an Item Ledger Entry.

If landed costs are specified for an item and a vendor, CS Landed Costs will also create value entries with these landed costs (the type will be indirect costs) per cost type.

Besides, Landed Cost Entries will be created, containing the calculated landed costs. The total amount of the landed costs entries will be visible as Landed Cost Amount (Calculated).

Apart from the direct costs (purchase price as stated on the invoice line) and the overhead costs (percentage from the item page), CS Landed Costs will add additional Value Entries with entry type indirect costs as calculated on the purchase price.

The value entries will show:

The landed costs have been split up into different value entries, each with a different General Product Posting Group as stated in the Landed Cost Types.

Notes:

The Landed Costs per type are calculated with the landed cost percentage * direct unit price +/+ the amount per landed cost type * quantity in base units of measure.

No overhead is visible in this example, because the general overhead percentage was not assigned on the Item page.

Depending on the Inventory Settings, the value entries will be posted to the general ledger immediately or periodically. The general account numbers where the indirect costs are specified per General Posting Group and can be found in the General Posting Setup.

Navigate to the Landed Cost Entries to view the landed costs of the item ledger entry.
